The Kona Palisades Artists Group will hold an open studio tour Saturday and Sunday. Nine artists will open their studios for tours and demonstrations along with the opportunity to purchase their art.
The Kona Palisades Artists Group will hold an open studio tour Saturday and Sunday. Nine artists will open their studios for tours and demonstrations along with the opportunity to purchase their art.
The group consists of Debra Dolsberry, silk painting; Ron Pecchenino and John Gaukel, pietra dura collaborative art; Cynthia Hankins, photography; Barbara Hanson, polymer clay; Bill Jaeger, stained glass; Kathleen Jaeger, acrylic painting and stained glass mosaic; and Bill Twibell, gyotaku, or fish printing.
Additionally, Waimea artist Jay West has been invited as a guest artist with her glass, paper and painting art.
This self-guided tour will be open from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. both days and will consist of five stops in the Kona Palisades Estates subdivision. Look for signs to the five stops, where maps will be available to the other studios.
Attendees will be able to meet each artist, see their working studio and talk about their respective art. The stops will also feature working demonstrations on stained glass cutting, silk painting, mosaic art process, the use of polymer clay and the process for pietra dura.
